Chances are that you have hundreds of images of other divers and marine life but not one of yourself. What better solution than an underwater marine life selfie? Check out these top tips for the perfect shot.

POSITION PERFECT
If you hold the camera with both hands at arm’s length, your arms will feature prominently in the photo and you will be right in the centre of the shot. A more suitable option is to hold the camera with your left hand and aim so that you are neatly in the right hand side of the screen – this also allows for more space for your creature buddy.

BE AWARE
Remember to be aware of your surroundings at all times, maintain good buoyancy and make sure your fins do not hit anything.

BUDDY UP
Remember to strike a pose before you press that button. Plan beforehand with your buddy to try get him or her in the shot too.

NEATEN UP
Tuck your right arm in so that it does not dangle in the middle of the picture, or do something exciting with your right hand.

TIME IT RIGHT
Tip: Time the shot just as you breathe in so that you can avoid that obstructive curtain of bubbles that may ruin your shot.
