How long does it take to get certified?
Courses are generally split into sessions which are performance-based and can be completed at your own pace. However, a simple course can take up as little as a week.
Who can enrol?
Anyone who is up to the challenge, within physical ability and health, can complete a dive course. The starting age for taking a course is usually between 10 and 12 years old, depending on the agency.
How much does it cost?
It all depends on the packages offered, the type of course, gear rental, where you do your qualifying dive, etc. A simple dive course, excluding rental, can cost on average about R2 500. (Note: these are basic rates and are to be used as a guideline only.)

What must I do?
Most dive courses consist of three parts: a theoretical part where you will learn the theory and the basics of scuba diving, confined pool sessions where you will put your theory into practice and lastly, your qualifying dives.
